Meet the creator!
Hey y'all! My name is Laney Kelley, and I’m currently 20 years old, studying at Troy University. I’m majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies, which means I essentially have three minors combined into one big major. My minors are general business, marketing, and I recently changed my third one to event management.
On campus, I’m involved in a few organizations, such as Greek life and Women in Business, and I’m also a Trojan Ambassador this year. This year has really started off great, and I’m excited to keep moving forward and building a community here in Troy, just like I do at home.
A few random facts about me: I have celiac disease, an immune disorder triggered by consuming gluten. I was diagnosed right before my senior year of high school, which definitely required a hard adjustment in my lifestyle, but I’m getting the hang of it! Another fun fact is that most of my macarons are gluten-free, so people like me can enjoy them too.
My favorite color is pink, as you might have guessed, and my absolute favorite food is sushi! Hopefully, after reading this, you feel like you know me a little better. I’m just a girl living my life, trying to balance everything I do. Running this business can definitely be stressful at times, but I wouldn’t want it any other way!
My Story
This all started at the peak of COVID in 2020. Like everyone else, I had nothing to do during quarantine, so I began experimenting with my absolute favorite sweet treat: macarons. For those who don’t know, baking macarons can be a very tedious process, which gave me plenty to occupy my time during this period of uncertainty. With all that free time, I kept baking until I was satisfied—or nearly perfected—and my family loved them. Soon, word spread, and close friends and relatives wanted to try them as well. Everyone adored these cookies, and I began receiving orders for baby showers and even weddings.
In February 2022, I decided to start a small Instagram account to showcase my macarons and share a few of my other hobbies. It feels like just yesterday, yet I have almost been running this small business for THREE WHOLE YEARS! This has grown into something I could have never imagined in a million years. If you had told 17-year-old me that I would have a website and my products in a real store, I would have thought you were insane!
With all that said, none of this would have been possible without you, and I am so grateful for the amazing support system and customers like you.
